Discover the natural world in the midst a thriving urban industrial park on this bicycle and walking tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where we will explore New York City's waterways, terrestrial ecosystems and urban farms.  At the stunning 65,000-square-foot Brooklyn Grange rooftop farm, we will learn how they produce 20,000 pounds of vegetables annually – as well as honey and eggs – and are a national leader in the development of rooftop and urban farming techniques. As Hurricane Sandy tore through New York City last fall, New York magazine dispatched photographer Pari Dukovic to document the destruction.  This October, on the first anniversary of the storm, Kings County Distillery and BDG 92 will host the first complete exhibition of his work covering the storm. From Red Hook to the Rockaways and beyond, large-scale images capture the fullness of the flooded city.
