Urban Ecology Bicycle Tour

SUN MAY 22 2016 > 1 p.m.

Discover the natural world in the midst of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a thriving industrial park. Starting at BLDG 92, this tour led in partnership with Turnstile tours will feature a sedum-plant rooftop, the Brooklyn Grange's rooftop farm and an oyster restoration project. Visitors will learn about rooftop systems, urban farming, and intersections between stormwater mangement, landscape architecture, and marine ecology.

Live Painting with Steven J Mosley

SUN MAY 22 2016 > noon

Experience an artist in action! Local painter Steven J Mosley, will take over our outdoor forecourt as he paints a series of his signature faces and skulls on skateboards. Mosley’s portraits are narrative snapshots that tell the stories and personal experiences of Blacks in America. Every painting contains a multitude of messages, hidden in visual patterns, mixed media collage and color.

Whether you are an experienced weaver or a first-timer, all are welcome to sit around the Dining Table Loom in our sunny forecourt and weave together.
