Urban Ecology Bicycle Tour

SUN JUL 23 2017 > 11 a.m.

Discover the natural world in the midst of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a thriving industrial park. Starting at BLDG 92, this tour led in partnership with Turnstile tours will feature a sedum-plant rooftop, the Brooklyn Grange's rooftop farm and an oyster restoration project. Visitors will learn about rooftop systems, urban farming, and intersections between stormwater mangement, landscape architecture, and marine ecology.

Future Saturdays: Food From Farm to Kitchen

SAT JUL 22 2017 > 11 a.m.

This month's Future Saturdays event is a fun-filled exploration of food from farm to kitchen.  City Growers will host honeybee and composting stations, and local organization Seeds in the Middle will partner on composting and plant stations, and will also offer cooking demos throughout the event. There will be fresh fruits and vegetables as well as face painting, music, and games.

Seasonal Photography Tour - Summer

The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a fascinating visual tapestry of 19th century buildings and LEED-certified structures, of natural landscapes and waterfront vistas amid a thriving industrial park. Starting this fall, Turnstile Tours and BLDG 92 are pleased to offer seasonal photography tours to provide opportunities for the public to come out with their cameras and capture some of the most visually stimulating sites within the Yard.
