For over 150 years, the Brooklyn Navy Yard churned out America's most famous fighting ships, from the USS Maine to the USS Missouri. Today, the Yard is considered a national model for sustainable urban industrial parks. This tour, given in partnership with Turnstile Tours, explores the 300-acre facility and offers opportunities to get off the bus for a closer look at the Yard's most intriguing sites, including a dry dock that's been used since before the Civil War, the 24-acre former Navy hospital campus that is virtually frozen in time and the nation's first multi-story LEED ...

This tour led by Turnstile Tours begins at BLDG 92, which showcases some of the 330+ businesses that call the Yard home.  Visitors will go behind the scenes at Ferra Designs a design and fabrication firm creating dynamic architectural interiors, installations, and more, combining old-school craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.

Seasonal Photography Tour - Fall

The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a fascinating visual tapestry of 19th century buildings and LEED-certified structures, of natural landscapes and waterfront vistas amid a thriving industrial park. Starting this fall, Turnstile Tours and BLDG 92 are pleased to offer seasonal photography tours to provide opportunities for the public to come out with their cameras and capture some of the most visually stimulating sites within the Yard. Highlights include the frozen-in-time Navy Hospital Campus, the World War II-era pier with views of the Manhattan skyline and Wallabout Bay, and a functioning dry dock that is used for ship repair. Whiskey Wars Factory Tour!

In the 19th century, Marines were dispatched from the Navy Yard to crack down on illegal whiskey distilling in what became known as the WHISKEY WARS. Today, Kings County Distillery is proudly making moonshine and more on premises.
