Enjoy Memorial Day Weekend at BLDG 92 as we commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812 on Saturday 5/26 from 12pm- 6pm. Activities include:
FREE ADMISSION to exhibitions. Explore our permanent exhibition, "Brooklyn Navy Yard: Past, Present & Future," and be there for the opening of the War of 1812 traveling exhibit of the National Museum of the US Navy. BLDG 92 unveils the gun of the USS Adams (1798).
Food and Fun in the Forecourt. Kick off summer in our forecourt! Enjoy locally sourced food and bluegrass tunes in the sun. In the cafe upstairs enjoy goodies from Ted & Honey and beer and wine.

12:30 – 1:00 Boat Christening: Shipbuilding is back at the Navy Yard. Community Boathouse Boat Building Project and Benjamin Banneker Academy christen Yard-built 14’ rowboat. Enjoy Star-Spangled Celebration with special performances by students from the Benjamin Banneker Academy. Free.
1:00 – 2:00 “Yard Inspectors” Tour. Guides take visitors on a Yard-wide adventure. Follow clues throughout to uncover the Yard's hidden treasures. Perfect for children ages 6 to 14. Limited capacity, special Memorial Day weekend prices: $18/adult, $9/children. Purchase tickets here.
3:00 – 3:45 Factory Tour and Blacksmith Demo: Celebrate the history and future of craftsmanship on a behind-the-scenes Tour of Ferra Design studios and a blacksmithing demonstration. Sign-up at the front desk-space is limited. Free.
4:30 – 5:00 Author Talk: Join renowned historian and author, Steve Jaffe, as he discusses the dynamic role of the Brooklyn Navy Yard during the War of 1812.
