Brooklyn Navy Yard: Past, Present and Future >
The extraordinary history of the Brooklyn Navy Yard is recounted in this original exhibition that interweaves natural, cultural, social, naval, and industrial narratives.
Exhibitions
The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a rarity: a 19th-century citadel of the Industrial Revolution reincarnated as a model of clean industrial re-use in the 21st century. A historic national icon, the Yard has long been a mystery to its neighbors. Now, for the first time in decades, you are invited to experience this unique and remarkable site and hear its many stories, most for the first time. Since 2007, BNYDC has consulted with historians, educators, scholars, community and business leaders, and design experts on the development of BLDG 92 and the exhibition, “Brooklyn Navy Yard: Past, Present and Future.”
Gallery 92 >
On the 3rd floor of historic BLDG 92, one full gallery is dedicated to rotating exhibits that showcase tenant work, new collections and materials, art and historic interpretation.
Designing the Future >
About "Designing the Future" at BLDG 92
Throughout “Brooklyn Navy Yard: Past, Present and Future,” we look to the past in honor of the Yard’s rich history, and we celebrate the present as we display the creativity of today’s Yard tenants. In this case, we look to the future!
