2016 Brooklyn Navy Yard Visiting Artists

BLDG 92 is excited to announce the names of the five individuals selected as the 2016 Brooklyn Navy Yard Visiting Artists. The Visiting Artist program, offered annually, offers access to local artists who are inspired by or seeking to connect to the Yard through a variety of creative disciplines. Each day during the work week of March 28 we will release a blog post about one of the Artists.

Allen Riley

Allen Riley is a media artist and teacher. He holds a MFA in Electronic Integrated Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics and designs hands-on workshops in art and technology for kids at Beam Center in Brooklyn, NY. Through his work, he investigates the impact of the Internet on human interaction by staging encounters between people, technology, and nature. As a Visiting Artist, Allen is excited to tap into the Yard’s extensive history as a site of technological development and hopes to engage with the Yard community in the creation of interactive media art that explores this ongoing evolution.
